The few of you who do follow this blog knew it was going to happen. Electromagnetizm is postponed to 2012.
I figure there isn't a big enough fanbase yet to warrant a rushed release. I apologize to those who are affected negatively by this delay.

I apologize for the continuing lack of updates. I have been ridiculously swamped with insane amounts of work, and Electromagnetizm has definitely taken a hit. Fortunately, I am still continuing the project. The bad news is that I will most likely have to postpone the release date to late 2011 or early 2012.
On a lighter note, I have more concept music for you!

A few important announcements today:
    - Mapping has started. The game will follow the following layout:
        - 5 main sectors (A,B,C,D,E)
        - Each sector will correspond to a new gameplay element (cannon, power beam, RML, mag chain, and final boss, respectively)
    - In order for effective testing of maps to work, I'm going to start mapping most of the levels in Valve®'s Source® engine. What this means is that I will be able to quickly lay out maps which I can test in the Source engine before implementing it in Electromagnetizm as a working level. This also means that I will be able to let the fans see my work as it progresses. As I complete new areas I will periodically upload Source map files which you can use in Valve's Portal™ to test the maps before the game is released.
    - The storyline is nearing completion. While I don't want to give out any spoilers, I will say that the entire game will have full voice acting, most of which will be done by myself and a few of my friends.

Here is a short clip of a conceptual track I've been working on. I'm going for an ambient minor feeling built around electronic sounds to create an atmosphere of isolation with an obvious tech influence. Follow the link to download the clip!

A new preview video of Electromagnetizm has been uploaded!
While the video doesn't contain any new in-game content from what you already have seen, what it DOES show is that I have finally decided on a name for the independent 'game studio' that I have created to surround my project - AKSOFT. Check out the new website and blog at AKSoftware.weebly.com!
